EPIGRAPHIA INDICA

Karkara, i.e. Kakkarâja II., and Raṇastambha, and imprisoned king Utpala, i.e. the Paramâra Muñja[1]), married Jâkavvâ, a daughter of the Râshṭrakûṭa Bhammaha-Raṭṭa ; their son [Irivabeḍaṅga] Satyâśraya ; his younger brother Yaśôvarman,[2] married Bhâgyavatî ;[3] their son Vikramâditya [V.].

151.─Ś. 940.─ PSOCI. No. 153 ; Mysore Inscr. No. 80, p. 166. Baḷagâṁve Kanarese inscription probably of the W. Châlukya Jayasiṁha II. Jagadêkamalla :─ ‘Śaka 940 (in figures, l. 10). The other details of the date are illegible.’

152.─Ś. 941.─ Ind. Ant. Vol. V. p. 15, and Plate ; PSOCI. No. 154 ; Mysore Inscr. No. 72, p. 148. Baḷagâṁve Kanarese inscription of the reign of the W. Châlukya Jayasiṁha II. Jagadêkamalla (∙ the moon to the lotus which was king Bhôja,[4] and ‘ the lion to the elephant which was Râjêndra-Chôḷa [I.]’[5]), and of his feudatory, the Mahâmaṇḍalêśvara Kundamarasa, a son of Irivabeḍaṅgadêva :[6]

(L. 25).─ Śaka-varsha 941neya Siddhârtthi-saṁvatsarada Pushya-śuddha-bidige Âdittyavârad=aṁdin=uttarâyaṇa-saṁkrâṁtîya parbba(rvva)-nimittadiṁ.

The date is irregular ; see Ind. Ant. Vol. XXIV. p. 13, No. 177.

153.─Ś. 944.─Ind. Ant. Vol. XVIII. p. 273 ; PSOCI. No. 70. Bêlûr Kanarese inscription of the reign of the W. Châlukya Jayasiṁha II. Jagadêkamalla, and of his elder sister Akkâdêvi :─

(L. 29).─ Sa(śa)kanṛipakâḷ-âtîta-saṁvatsara-śataṁga[ḷ*] 944neya Duṁdubhi-saṁvatsa- rad=uttarâyaṇa-saṁkrântiyuṁ vyatîpâtamum=Âdityavârad=a[ṁ*]du.

The date is irregular ; see Ind. Ant. Vol. XXIV. p. 13, No. 178.

The inscription mentions Akkâdêvî’s father Daśavarman, her mother Bhâgaladêvî,[7] and her elder brother Vikramâditya [V.] Tribhuvanamalla.

154.─Ś. 946.─ Jour. Roy. As. Soc. Vol. II. p. 380, and Vol. III. p. 258 ; Ind. Ant. Vol. VIII. p. 11. Miraj plates of the W. Châlukya Mahârâjâdhirâja Jayasiṁha II. Jagadêkamalla, issued from near Kollâpura :─

Śakanṛipakâl-âtîta-saṁvatsara-śatêshu navasu shaṭchatvâriṁśad-adhikêshv=aṁkataḥ saṁvat 946 Raktâkshi-saṁvatsar-âṁtarggata-Vaiśâkha-paurṇṇamâsyâm=Âdityavârê.

Genealogy as far as Vikramâditya [V.] as in No. 150 ;[8] his younger brother Jayasiṁha .[II.] Jagadêkamalla.

(L. 8).─ Sa(śa)ka-varisha 950neya Vibhava-saṁvatsarada Pushya-śudhdha(ddha) 5 Sômav[â]rad=uttarâyaṇasa[ṁ]krântiy-andu.
