407.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 66, p. 60. Inscription recording the foundation of a shrine by Êchaṇa (Boppaṇa), the son of Gaṅga[râja].

408.─Ś. 1068*.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa- Beḷgoḷa, No. 50, p. 28 Sanskṛit and Kanarese inscription [1] recording the date of the death of Prabhâchanḍra-siddhântadȇva, the disciple of Mêghachandra-traividyadêva and fellow-student of Mêghachandra’s son Vîraṇandin :[2]

Sa(śa)ka-varshaṁ 1068neya Krôdhana-saṁvatsarada Âśvîja-sa(śu)ddha-daśamî Bṛihavârad=andu Dhanur–llagnada pûrvvâṇad=âṛu-ghaḷigey=app=âgaḷ.

Thursday, 27th September A.D.1145; see Ind. Ant. Vol. XXIII. p. 127, No. 87.

The inscription mentions Mȇghachadra’s fellow-student Śubhakîrti, the son of Bâḷachandra ; and as a lay-disciple of Prabhâchandra the Hoysaḷa Vishṇuvardhana’s Paṭṭamahâdȇvî Śântaladȇvî, whose mother was Mâchikabbe.

409.─Ś. 1081.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No 138, p. 106. Sanskṛit and Kanarese inscription, recording grants, etc., by the Hoysaḷa NarasiṁhaI. and his minister and senior treasurer Huḷḷapa, the son of Jakkirâja and Lôkâmbikâ, of the Vâji vaṁśa :[3]

Êkâśîtyuttara-sahasra-Śaka-varshȇshu gatȇshu Pramâdi(thi)-saṁvatsarasya Pushyamâsa- śuddha-Śukravâra-chaturddaśyâm=uttarâyaṇa-saṅkrântau.

In the Hoysaḷa race, sprung from Yadu : Vinayâditya, married Kȇḷiyadȇvî ; their son Ereyaṅga (burnt Dhârâ, laid waste Chakragôṭṭa), married Êchaladêvî ; their son Vishṇu (defeated Narasiṁhavarman, Adiyama, the lord of Mâlava, Jagaddȇva[4] and Iruṅgôḷa), married Lakshmîdȇvî ; their son Nârasiṁha (Narasiṁha I., surnamed Bhujabala-Vîra-Gaṅga and Pratâpa-Hoysaḷa), married Êchaladȇvî.

410.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 137, first part, p.101. Kanarese inscription[5] of the reign of the Hoysaḷa Mahâmaṇḍalêśvara Nârasiṁha (Narasiṁha I.) Tribhuvanamalla, lord of Dvârâvatî,’ recording works of piety and donations by himself and his minister, the Daṇḍanâyaka Huḷḷa ( Huḷḷarâja, Huḷḷapa, Huḷḷana, Puḷḷana), the son of Yaksharâja of the Vâchi vaṁśa[6] and husband of Padmâvatî.

411.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 80, p. 63. Kanarese inscription recording donations by Huḷḷamayya, the minister and senior treasurer of Narasiṁha I.

412.─Ś. 1085.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 39, p. 7. Sanskṛit and Kanarese inscription recording the date of the death of the Mahâmaṇḍalâchârya Dȇvakîrti-paṇḍitadȇva:─

Śaka-varsha sâsirada-eṁbhatt-aidaneva || Varshȇ khyâta-Subhânu-nâmani sitȇ pakshȇ tad-Âshâḍhakȇ mâsȇ tan-navamî-tithau Budha-yutȇ vârȇ dinȇś-ôdayȇ. Wednesday, 12th June A.D. 1163 ; see Ind. Ant. Vol. XXIII. p. 117, No . 24.

413.─Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 40, p. 8. Sanskṛit and Kanarese inscription recording the erection of a tomb in memory the Mahâmaṇḍalâchârya Dȇvakîrti-paṇḍitadȇva by the Daṇḍanâyaka Huḷḷarâja (Huḷḷapa), the son of Yaksharâja of the Vâji vaṁśa and Lôkâmbike, and minister and senior treasurer of Nârasiṅga (Narasiṁha I.).─ The inscription mentions the temple of Rûpa-Nârâyaṇa[7] at Kollâpura ; also the Sâmantas Nimbadȇva[7] and Kâmadȇva,[8] who were lay-disciples of Mâghanandin.

414.─Ś. 1099*.─ Inscr. at Śravaṇa-Beḷgoḷa, No. 42, p. 12, and specimen Plate. Sanskṛit and Kanarese inscription recoding the date of the death of Huḷḷa’s friend Nayakîrtidȇva, the (son and ) disciple of Guṇachandradȇva, fellow-student of Guṇachandradȇva’s son
