HOSĀḶA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing in a field called Saleya âSubbana gaddeâ

Bhujabaḷarāya, [Narasiṁha] 1477 A.D.

This badly damaged record registers a gift of lands to a maṭha. All other details are lost. The record refers to Bhujabaḷarāra as the king. He is identical with Sāḷuva Narsiṁha.

It is dated Śaka 1399 (1400 current), . . . . ba. 1, Thursday; the others details being lost. But in the given year corresponding to 1477 A.D., only in the month of Kārttika did the given tithi occur on a Thursday; hence 1477 A.D., October 23 might be the intended date of the record.
