EPIGRAPHIA INDICA
Ramagrāma may actually be the joint name of two adjacent places called Astihōṇa and Rāmagrāma.
With the name of Astihōṇa may be compared that of the village Astihavēra mentioned in the Tekkali
plates of Umavarman.[1] The localities mentioned as lying on the boundaries of the gift land,
except the sea or the Bay of Bengal, cannot be identified.

[4] The reading intended seems to be ēbhir=ēva sīmaiḥ avachchhinnaḥ Niṅgōṇḍiḥ ā-chandra-tāraka-pratishṭham-agrahāraṁ kṛitvā. The word sīma is found in inscriptions for sīman (see Monier-Williams, Sanskrit-English
Dictionary, s. v.).
[5] The word Brāhmaṇēbhyaḥ has been carelessly dropped.
[6] The passage is defective. In other records we have bhavishyatah=cha rājñō vijñāpayāmi (or ºpayati) ; dharma-karma-vikramāṇām=idaṁ dānam sad-dharmam=anupaśyādbhir=ēshō=grahārō=nupalyaḥ. Cf. above, Vol. XII, p. 5
