PEDDAVELAGAṬŪRU, PUNGANUR TALUK, CHITTOOR DISTRICT

Slab set up in the courtyard of Varadarājasvāmin temple

Harihara II, 1404 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 1327 (expressed in words), Tāraṇa, Jyēshṭha śu. 5, Wednesday corresponding to 1404 A.D., May 14. The Śaka year was current.

It records the installation of god Varadarājadēva (in the temple) at Hiriya-Veḷagāṭūru situated in Huli-nāḍu of Muḷuvāya-rājya and of gift of land as sarvamānya for worship and offerings to the same by Lakhaya-nāyaka, son of Mupeya-nāyaka who was the bāgila-pradhāni (chief secretary ?) of Bommaṇa-voḍeya son of Bā[da]rāya-Voḍeya. The latter was the mahāpradhāna of the king.

2 ರದ ಮುಂನೂಱ ಯಿಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳನೆಯ ತಾರಣ ಸಂವ –

3 [ತ್ಸ]ರದ ಜ್ಯೇಷ್ಟ ಸು 5 ಬು ಪುಷ್ಯ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಲು ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜ ಪ –
