KEÑJŪRU, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of Viśvēśvara

Dēvarāya I, 1408 A.D.

It registers a gift of money income for feeding several brahmins in the maṭha of Cheppaḷḷi probably a hamlet of Keñjūru, by Beṁma- sēnabōva and Viruṇu-sēnabōva during the period of Beṁmaṇṇāi Toḷaha of Sūrāla, when mahāpradhāna Bāchaṇṇa-oḍeya of Gōve was governing Bārakūru-rājya.

It is dated Śaka 1330, Sarvajit, Bhādrapada ba. 1, Wednesday. In the given cyclic year the tithi corresponds to 1407 A.D., August 19, the weekday being Friday and the Śaka year current. In the next year (i.e. Śaka 1330, Sarvadhāri) the tithi corresponds to 1408 A.D., September 5, Wednesday, f.d.t. .62. The latter might be the intended.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ || ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ

2 ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ | ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀ

3 ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಕವರುಷ 1330 ತ್ತನೆಯ ಸರ್ವ್ವಜಿತ್ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಭಾ –

4 ದ್ರಪದ ಬ 1 ಬುಧವಾರದಲು | ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ

5 ಅರಿರಾಯ ವಿಭಾಡ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ತಪ್ಪುವರಾಯರ ಗಂಡ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ

6 ಸಮುದ್ರಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರ ದೇವರಾಯರು ಸುಕಸಂಕಥಾ ವಿನೋದದಿಂ ರಾಜ್ಯವ

7 ಪಾಲ್ಸುತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲದಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾಪ್ರಧಾನಂ ಗೋವೆಯ ಬಾಚಂಣ್ಣ ವೊಡೆಯ –

8 ರು ಬಾರಕೂರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನಾಳು ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರಾಲ ಬೆಂಮಂಣಾ . ತೊಳಹ –

9 ರ ಕಾಲದಲು ಕೆಂಜೂರು ಚೆಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿಯ ವೊಳಗೆ ಬೆಂಮ್ಮಸೇನ ಬೋವ ವಿರುಣು ಸೇ –

10 ನ ಬೋವ ಮಾಡಿದಧರ್ಮದ ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸನ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದಡೆ || ಕ್ರಿಷ್ಣ ಬಾಹಿರಿ

11 ದ್ದ ಬಾಳಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಠದಲಿ ಉಂಬ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮರು 72 ಮಠಕೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಣ 4[|]
