(A. R. No. 305 of 1931-32)

BILLĀḌI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing in ‘Paḍumala-gadde’ at Nayilāḍi

Virūpāksha, 1472 A.D.

This badly damaged record gives the date and refers to Viṭharasa-oḍeya who is said to have been governing Bārakūru. It is dated Śaka 1395 (current), Nandana, Māgaśira ba. 1(1) corresponding to 1472 A.D., November 16. The details are however, not verifiable.

CHOKKĀḌI, (near Yēṇaguḍḍe), UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of the Mahāliṅgēśvara temple

Virūpāksha, 1474 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1396 (expired) (1397 current), Jaya, Chaitra śu. 13, Thursday corresponding to 1474 A.D., March 31.

It registers an agreement between the seṭṭikāra and the nakhara- haṁjamāna of Bārakūru and the ballalas, muḍilas and the residents of Niḍuṁbūru regarding the boundaries of their lands situated in Voḍe- ūru. Viṭharasa-voḍeya is stated to be governing Bārakūru-rājya at that time.
