HOSĀḶA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Two broken stones built into the steps of the tank at the
Bhaṇḍārikēri-maṭha

[Virūpa]ksha-maharaya

This record, the middle portion of which is lost registers a gift of land, house and some money also probably to god Sōmanāthadēva of Mūru[kēri] by a seṭṭi whose name is lost. Viṭharasa-voḍeya is stated to have been governing Bā[rakūru-rājya ?] under the command of a daṇṇāyaka who was a mahāpradhāna.

The extant portion of the date refers to the bright fortnight of the month of Vaiśākha. The king, only the letter of whose name (ksha) is preserved, must be Virupāksha.
