GUṆḌIMI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up by the prākāra of Māṇi-Chennakēśava temple

Sadāśivarāya, 1560 A.D.

This badly damaged record is dated Kali 46[60], Śaka 1481, Siddhārthi, Māgha śu. 1 corresponding to 1560 A.D., January 27. The details of date are not verifiable.

It registers gifts of land to a deity at Guṇḍume, a locality belonging to the village Kōṭa, by the five stānikas, for worship, offerings and burning a perpetual lamp on festive occasions. It refers to Bārakūra-sīme and to Sadāśivarāya-nāyaka. The details are all lost.
