TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

(A. R. No. 500 of 1928-29)

PUTTIGE, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of the Vishṇumūrti temple

Vīra-Pāṇḍyadēva, 1267 A.D.

This damaged record is dated the cyclic year Prabhava, Siṁha, in the reign of Vīra-Pāṇḍyadēva Āḷpēndra and so might be assigned to 1267 A.D.

It refers to an aḍaka-patra issued in the presence of the pradhānas and other officials of the palace at Bārakanyāpura, registering a gift of the village Puttige and stipulating payment of taxes like samudāya to the king.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಭು-

2 ವನ[ವಿಖ್ಯಾ]ತ ಸೋಮಕುಳ

3 ತಿಳಕ [ಪಾಂಡ್ಯ] ಮಹಾರಾಜಾ-

4 ಧಿರಾಜ ಪರಮೇಸ್ವರಂ ಪರಮ-

5 ಭಟ್ಟಾರಕಂ ವೈರೀಭ[ಖ]೦ಟೀರವಂ

6 ನಿಸಂಕಮಲ್ಲಂ ಚಲದಂಕರಾ-

7 ಮ . . . | ಸತ್ಯ ರತ್ನಾಕರಂ ಶ[ರ್ಣಾ]ಗತ-

8 ವಜ್ರಪಂಜರಂ ಶ್ರೀಕೋಟೀಸ್ವ[ರ*]ದೇವರ ದಿವ್ಯ-

9 ಶ್ರೀಪಾದಪದ್ಮರಾಧಕಂ ಪರಬಳ ಸಾ-

10 ಧಕರುಮಪ್ಪ ಶ್ರೀಮ[ನ್] ಪಾಂಡ್ಯಚಕ್ರವರ್ತ್ತಿ

11 ಅರಿರಾಯಗಜಕೇಸರಿ ವೀರಪಾಂಡ್ಯ ದೇವ

12 ಆಳ್ಪೇಂದ್ರ ದೇವರು ಸುಕಸಂಕತಾ ವಿನೋದದಿಂ ರಾ-

13 ಜ್ಯಂ ಗ್ಯೆಯುತ್ತಿರೆ ಪ್ರಭವ ಶಂವತ್ಸರದ ಸಿಂಹ

14 ಮಾಸದಂದು ಬಾರಕನ್ಯಾಪುರದ ಹಿರಯ ಅರ-

15 ಮನೆಯ ಬಹ . . . ಳಾಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ [ಶಿಲಾ]-

16 [ಭ]ವನ ಬಳಿಯ ಒಡ್ಡಮ[ದೇ]ವರು ಬ . . .
