HĀNEHAḶḶI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up near the west wall of the Sōmanātha temple

Vīra-Pāṇḍyadēva

This badly damaged record, in characters of about the 13th century, registers a gift of paddy, for offerings, to the god Sōmanātha and Vidyādhra and the goddess Mahālakshmī. It also provides for feeding Brāhmaṇas and maintaining the cooks etc. The gift seems to have been made by the king Vīra Pāṇḍyadēva-Āḷupēndra when Ballamahādēvī and all the pradhānas had assembled in the palace at Bāraha-kanyāpura.

The date and other details are lost.
