HĒRĀḌI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing in a field called ‘Kallugadde’

Ballamahā . . , 1282-83 A.D.

This badly damaged record refers to the reign of Pāṇḍya- chakravarti Ballamahā . . and is dated in the Kaliyuga era 4384, Chitrabhānu, Siṁha, the other details of etc. being loost. The year, which was current, corresponds to 1282-83 A.D.

TEXT

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀಮತು [ಪಾಂಡ್ಯನ] ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತ್ತಿ [ಬಲ್ಲಮಹಾ]

2 ದೇ . . ವಿಜಯರಾಜ್ಯ ಮುತ್ತರೋತ್ತರಾಭಿವ್ರುದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರ .

3 . . . ಮಾನ ಆಚಂದ್ರತಾರಾಂಬರ[೦] ಸಲು . . .

4 [ಕ]ಲಿಯುಗ ಸಕವರಿಸ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾಸಿರದ [ಮೂನೂಱ]

5 ಎ[೦*]ಭತ್ತಮಾಲ್ಕುನೆಯ ಚಿತ್ತರಭಾನು ಶಂವತ್ಸ[ರ*] ಸಿಂಹ-

KOḌAVŪRU (MALPE), UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in a field adjacent to the temple called Kallu-maṭha

Ballamahādēvī, 1287 A.D.

This record registers the remission of taxes like samudāya and beḍaṁgoḷu collected upon the land belonging to Kṛishṇa Nāṇilitāya situated in Kuḍevūru adhivāsa of the village Śivaḷḷi, by the Queen when she was giving audience in the palace at Bārahakanyāpura, in the presence of all the prādhāna, dēśi-purusha and bāhattaraniyōgi.

It is dated Śaka 1210, Sarvajit, Tulā (Tula) 24, Wednesday corresponding to 1287 A.D., October 24.
