DĒSIDOḌḌI (NEAR VANAMALADINNE, PUNGANUR TALUK, CHITTOOR DISTRICT

Slab set up in a field in front of the deserted Vishṇu temple

Circa 10th century

       This broken record seems to refers to the construction of a sluice of the tank (called Paneguṇte ?) for the merit of Jannabaliga, son of Pṛithvirāma-seṭṭi. It mentions Sāmuseṭṭi.

1        ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಪನೆಗುಂಟೆಯ

2        ತೂಂಬ ಪ್ರಿಥಿವಿರಾಮ –

3        ಸೆಟ್ಟಿಯ ಮಗ[ಜ]ನ್ನ –

4        ಬಲಿಗಂಗೆ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮೂಗೆಲಿ –

5        ಕ್ಕಿತು ಅಂಬಲದ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮ

6        ಸೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಳಿಂಜಗ ನೆ –

7        ರಯ ಉೞ್ಕಿ ಸಾಮು ನೆ

8        ಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಎ[ನಬ]ವರ ತೊ1

Side-slab of a dolmen (No. 2) in front of the deserted Vishṇu temple

Circa 10th century

       This worn out record registers the death of Puḷiyamma, the younger brother of Pṛithivirāma-seṭṭi, son of Balimurka-gavuṇḍa of Eḍeyūr, Dōramma and others in a battle. It mentions a Noḷaṁba and refers to Mārajavāḍi and to a gift of land.

1        ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಎಡೆಯೂರ ಬಲಿಮುರ್ಕ

2        ಗವುಣ್ಡರ ಮಗ ಪ್ರಿಥಿವಿ ರಾ –

3        ಮಸೆಟ್ಟಿಯ ತಮ್ಮ ಪುಳಿಯ

4        ಮ್ಮನುಂ ದೋರ[ಮ್ಮನು] ಮಾರಜವಾ –
