KAMALĀPURAM, KAMALAPURAM TALUK, CUDDAPAH DISTRICT

Nandi-pillar set up in front of the Pātāḷa-Sōmēśvarasvāmin temple

Indra (III), 925 A.D.

This damaged record is dated Śaka 848, Pārthiva, Uttarāyaṇa- saṁkrānti. The detailes given are insufficient for verification. However, the saṁkrānti, occurred on December 23, the year corresponding to 925 A.D. The Śaka year was current.

It seems to record the construction of the door-way and the maṇḍapa, and the repair of the shrines for the eight Parivāra-dēvatas of the Mulkiṁṭīśvara temple, by a Mahāsāmanta whose name cannot be made out, when Pallava-dhīra was governing Muḷki-500 division. the record states that the king, Indra III,was ruling the mahāraṭṭa rājya.
