TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

(A. R. No. 357 of 1930-31)

KANYANA, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in Gubbukōṇe Gōpālakṛishṇa temple

Harihara II, 1384 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 1306, Raktākshi, Jyēshṭha śu. 2, Sunday corresponding to 1384 A.D., May 22.

It registers the grant of certain privileges to the mahājagattu by the jananis of Rājāḍi Bellatūr when Gaṇa[pa]rasa, the taḷuvara of Jakkarasa-oḍeya was administering. The latter who was a Mahāpradhāna is stated to have been governing Bārakūru-rājya.

TEXT

1 ಶ್ರೀ ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಸ್ತುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರ ಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾ-

2 ರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ || ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮನ್ಮಹಾ ಮ –

3 ..೦ಡಳೇಶ್ವರಂ ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜಪರ[ಮೇಶ್ವರ*] ಅರಿರಾಯ ವಿಭಾಡ

4 ಭಾಸೆಗೆ ತಪ್ಪುವರಾಯರಗಂಡ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಉತ್ತರ

5 ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಚತುಸ್ಸಮುದ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿ ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾವೀರ ಹರಿ –

6 ಹರರಾಯ ಮಹಾರಾಯರು ರಾಜ್ಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯಂ¹ ಗೆಯ್ಯು(೦)ತ್ತಮಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕವ

7 ರುಷ 1306 ರಕ್ತಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಜ್ಯೇಷ್ಟ ಸು 2 ಆದಿವಾರದಂ

8 ದು ಶ್ರೀ ಮನ್ಮಹಾಪ್ರಧಾನಂ ಜಕ್ಕರಸ ಒಡೆಯರು ಬಾರಕೂ –

9 ರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನಾಳುವ ಕಾಲದಲು ರಾಜಾಡಿ ಬೆಲ್ಲತೂರ ಜ[ನನಿ] –

10 ಗಳು ಮಹಾಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸ –

11 ನದ ಕ್ರಮಮೆಂತೆಂದಡೆ ಜಕ್ಕರಸ ಒಡೆಯರ ತಳುವರಗಣ –

12 [ಪ]ರಸನು ಅಧಿಕಾರವಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಊರವರಿಗೆ ಜಗ[ರ್ತ್ತಿ]ನವರಿಗೆ

13 ಆ ಚಂದ್ರಾರ್ಕ್ಕವಾಗಿ ಕಾರುತಿಂಗಳು ತಾರೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲಿ ಆಣಿ –

14 ಕುಡಿ ಊರಾಣೆ ಕಾಳುಬೀಯ ಆಉದೂಸಲ್ಲದು [ಸೋನೆ] –

15 ಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲಿ ಸೋನೆ ಮರಿಯಾದೆ ಸಲುಊದು ಯಿಂ –

16 ತಪ್ಪುದಕೆ . . . . . . . . . ²
