KACHCHŪRU (KŌTAKĒRI), UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying in the tank opposite the Pañchaliṅgēśvara temple

Harihara II, 1397 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 13 . ., Īśvara, Kārttika śu. 1, Monday corresponding to 1397 A.D., October 22. The Śaka year was 1319.

The top portion of the slab is damaged. It registers the gift of lands and money income probably to the god Mārkkaṇḍēśvara by several individuals. It refers to the residence of Kōṭeyakēri. The king is said to have been ruling from his nelevīḍu at Dōrasamudra. The name of the governer of Bārakūru is lost.
