INSCRIPTIONS OF THE KALACHURIS OF RATANPUR
AMODA PLATES OF PRITHVIDEVA I : YEAR 831
1 Read -शाकंभरी-.
2 Metre of this and the following verse: Vasantatilakā.
3 Read -सिंहा:.
4 The vowel in नू is lengthened for the sake of the metre. Some later grants of this branch read तेषामनूजश्ज ।
5 Metre: Upajāti.
6 Metre of this and the following verse: Vasantatilakā.
7 This aksharas is clearly sa.
8 The five aksharas at the end of this line are not certain. I suggest the reading
उच्चै: श्रव:प्रथितवारुण-.
9 In the corresponding verse, the Ratanpur stone inscription of Jājalladēva (N0. 77 below) reads
-विभुषायँ.
10 As सूर means the sun here, the change to शूर proposed by Hiralal is not necessary.
11 Metre of this and the following two verses: Anushṭubh.
12 Hiralal reads जडकृत-, but the second akshara is clearly तु. The Raipur plate (above, No. 75,
1. 2) reads जतुधटितगात्रैरिव परै:।:|
13 Metre: Śikhariṇī.
14 Read स्यितमह्तौ..
15 These two aksharas at the end of 1. 20 and the first three aksharas in the beginning of 1. 21 are super-
fluous.
