KULĀI, MANGALORE TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of the Durgā-Paramēsvari temple

Harihara, 1404 A.D.

The record registers a gift of land after purchase from Malapa- seṭṭi, son of Padumaṇṇa-seṭṭi by Gōpīnātha and Kēśavanātha-sēnabōva, sons of Bāchappa-sēnabōva, for feeding six Brāhmaṇas in a feeding- house attached to the temple of Durgādēvi of Chitrapura. The gift, made for the merit of their mother Lakshimidēvi, was received by Varadēndra-tīrtha-śrīpāda. It also seems to record gift of land to god Mañjunāthadēva. Nāgaṇṇa-oḍeya, son of Mādarasa-oḍeya is stated to have been governing Maṅgaḷūru-rājya, in the period.

It is dated Śaka 1326, Mēsha 1, Sunday. The given tithi corresponds to 1404 A.D., March 26, the weekday being Wednesday.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇನಮಃ ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ –

2 ರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರಯಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ

3 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಶಕವರುಷ 1326 ನೆಯ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಾರಣ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ

4 ಮೇಶಮಾಸ ಪ್ರಥಮನೆಯ ಆದಿವಾರದಲು ಶ್ರೀಮನುಮಹಾರಾಜಾ –

5 ಧಿ ರಾಜ ರಾಜಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರ ಹರಿಹರರಾಯರ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ –

6 [ದ]ಲು ರಾಯರ ನಿರೂಪದಿಂ ಮಾದರಸ [ಒ]ಡೆಯರ ಕುಮಾರ ನಾಗಂಣ

7 ಒಡೆಯರು ಮಂಗಲೂರ ರಾಜ್ಯ[ವ]ನಾಳುತಿರು ಕಾಲದಲು ಬಾಚಪ್ಪ
