(A. R. No.190 of 1931-32)

MĒKALACHAMALAPALLE (Near Vanamaladinne), PUNGANUR TALIK,
CHITTOOR DISTRICT

Two pices broken slab lying to the north of the tank

Rajēndra-Chola (I) [1016-17 A.D.]

This record refers itself to the fourth year of the reign of Kō- Parakēsarivarman Rājēndra-chōla and states that the tank was dug by Dōramma Uttavaseṭṭi son of Narisānti-seṭṭi and Sōmaya son of Paramaṇḍala Gavare-seṭṭi. The record, in characters of about the 10th-11th century A.D. may be assigned to Rājēndra-chōḷa I in which case the year may correspond to 1016-17 A.D.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಕೋಪರಕೇಸರಿವ –

2 ರ್ಮ್ಮತ್ತಿಯ್ಯಾಣ್ಡು ನಾಲವುದು

3 ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಜೇನ್ದ್ರಚೋೞ ದೇವಂ ಪ್ರಿದಿ –

4 ವಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಂ ಗೆಯುತ್ತಿರೆ ನಿದ್ದ –

5 ಯ ಗೆಳೆವರಮಗ ಪರಮಣ್ಡಲ –

6 ಗವಱಿಸೆಟ್ಟಿಯ ಮಗಂ ಸೋಮಯ –

7 ನು ನರಿಸಾನ್ತಿ ಸೆಟ್ಟಿಯರಮಗಂ ದೋರ –

8 ಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತವಸೆಟ್ಟಿ[ಯು] ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಕೆಱಿ ಇ –

This fragmentary record refers to the donation made for burning two lamps in the temple at Śrīraṅa-Kshētra by a person (name lost) who is described as Kannaḍa-sandhivigrahi and Daṇḍanāyaka of
