MĒKALACHAMALAPALLE (Near Vanamaladinne), PUNGANUR TALIK,
CHITTOOR DISTRICT
Two pices broken slab lying to the north of the tank
Rajēndra-Chola (I) [1016-17 A.D.]
This record refers itself to the fourth year of the reign of Kō-
Parakēsarivarman Rājēndra-chōla and states that the tank was dug
by Dōramma Uttavaseṭṭi son of Narisānti-seṭṭi and Sōmaya son of
Paramaṇḍala Gavare-seṭṭi. The record, in characters of about the 10th-11th century A.D. may be assigned to Rājēndra-chōḷa I in which case the year may correspond to 1016-17 A.D.
