PERDŪRU, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up near a field called Garaḍi Kumbaḷagadde at Vāṇtyāla

Dēvarāya II, 1431 A.D.

This record registers a gift of land in Śivapura, to Kavi Śaṅkarabhaṭṭa son of Kavi Kṛishṇabhaṭṭa of the Śrīmaṭha at Siṅgēṛi (Śriṅgēri), in lieu of 80 kāṭi-gadyāṇas due to him as varttaneya-kaṭṭaḷe, at the instance of the king, by mahāpradhāna Chandappa who was governing Bārakūra-Tūḷu-rājya. The gift was made with the consent of the villages of Śivapura.

It is dated Śaka 1354 (current), Virōdhakṛit, Kārttika śu. 1, Monday. The tithi corresponds to 1431 A.D., October 7 when the weekday was Sunday.

TEXT

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ | ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರ ಚಾಮರ
.........ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರೈ –

2 ಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ | ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ
.........ಶಕವರ್ಷ ಸಾವಿ -

3 ರದಮುನೂಱ ಐವತ್ತು ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ವಿರೋಧಿಕೃತ್ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ
.........ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಶು1 ಸೋ ಲು ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾ –

4 ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಶ್ರೀವೀರಪ್ರತಾಪ ದೇವರಾಯ ಮಹಾರಾಯರು
.........ವಿಜಯನಗರಿಯ ರಾಜಸಿಂಹಾ –

5 ಸನದಲೂ ಸುಖಸಂಕಥಾ ವಿನೋದದಿಂ ಸಕಲವರ್ನ್ನಾಶ್ರಮ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಗಳನೂ
.........ಪ್ರತಿಪಾಲಿಸುವ ಕಾ -

6 ಲದಲು ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾಪ್ರಧಾನ ಚಂದಪಗಳೂ ಬಾರಕೂರ ತುಳುರಾಜ್ಯವನು
.........ಪ್ರತಿಪಾಲಿಸು –

7 ವಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಚಂದಪ್ಪಗಳು ರಾಯರ ನಿರೂಪದಿಂದ ಸಿ೦ಗೇರಿಯ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಕವಿ
.........ಕ್ರುಷ್ಣಭಟ್ಟರ ಮಕ್ಕ –

8 ಳು ಕವಿ ಶಂಕರಭಟ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಶಾಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ನಿವಗೆ
.........ಬಾರಕೂರ ಚಾವಡಿಯ

9 ಪರಿವಾರದ ಕಂದಾಚಾರದ ವೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಿನಲು ನಿವಗೆ ನಡದು
.........ಬಹ ವರ್ತ್ತನೆಯ

10 ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬಹ ಕಾಟಿ ಯೆಂಭತ್ತು ಹೊಂನ್ನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ ಕುರ್ದುನಾಡ
