No. 108
(A. R. No. 282 of 1931-32)
HOSĀḶA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT
Slab standing in the temple of Bappaḷāpura-Gaṇapati
Dēvarāya II, 1432 A.D
This record renews a gift of lands and money income made
formerly by Raṅgaṇṇa-seṭṭi for worship and offerings and feeding
brāhmaṇas on certain occasions in the temples of Vināyaka, Chaṇḍēśvari
and Nārāyaṇadēva and also for the persons responsible for the
maintenance of the tank called Raṅgaṇṇa-kere by the seṭṭis and
other chiefs of Ariyakēri who made over the same to Kannēśa-voḍeya
who was appointed as a trustee for that purpose, when Chaṇḍarasa-
voḍeya was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of the king
and mahā-pradhāna Perumāḷadēva-daṇṇāyaka. Another damaged record
in Nāgarī characters appears to have been engraved below this at a
much later date. Its purport is not clear.
The original record is dated Śaka 1355, Paridhāvi, Mārggaśira
śu.14, Saturday corresponding to 1432 A.D., December 6.
