ŚRĪRAṄGAM, TRICHINOPOLY TALUK, TRICHINOPOLY DISTRICT

East wall of the second prākāra in Raṅganātha temple

Dēvarāya II, 1434 A.D

       It refers to mahāmaṇḍalēśvara, Vīrapratāpa Dēvarāya as ruling the country and records a gift of two villages viz., Koḍiyāla in Teṅkare Rājagambhīra-vaḷanāḍu and Chirudayūr in Rājarāja-vaḷanāḍu by Aṇṇa-Chavuḍappa son of Ādityadēva and grandson of Yēchimarasa of Vaśishṭha-gōtra and Āśvalāyana-sūtra, to god Raṅganātha for daily offerings and a perpetual lamp and for the celebration of a car festival in the month of Bhādrapada and Uttarāshāḍa-nakshatra, the day of the natal star of Ādityadēva. A gift of an elephant and thirty cows was also made. These were made over to Uttama-nambi the officer in charge of the temple’s treasury. This is a copy of a Tamil record (A.R.S.I.E., App. B. No. 7 of 1938-39).

       Its is dated Śaka 1355, Pramādi, Pushya ba.6, Friday corresponding to 1434 A.D., January 1.
