TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

(A. R. No. 261 of 1931-32)

KACHCHŪRU (KŌṬAKĒRI), UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying near the wall in the house of Nikku Mendors

[Mallikārjuna], 1458 A.D.

This is badly damaged record is dated Śaka 13 . . , Bahudhānya, Kārttika śu. 9, Tuesday ; the other details are lost. It is in characters of about the 14th-15th century. It registers a grant of lands.

In Śaka 1380 corresponding to 1458 A.D., the tithi occurred on Monday, October 16. This might be the intended date, in which case the record will have to be assigned to Mallikārjuna.
