HOSĀḶA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying close to the well of the Bhaṇḍārikēri-maṭha

Immaḍi Dēvarāya, 1459 A.D.
(Mallikārjuna)

This damaged Kannaḍa inscription in Nāgāri characters, seems to record a gift of money to god Dāmōdaradēva when mahāpradhāna, [Lakha]ṇṇa, was governing Bārakūru-rājya.

It is dated Śaka 1381 (current), Bahudhānya, Māgha-amāvāsya, Vaḍḍavāra corresponding to 1459 A.D., February 3, Saturday, on which day there was a solar eclipse.
