18 . . ಳಗಣ . ಳಿಯ [ದೇವಿ]ಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ . ಪ್ರದೋಷದಲಾ ಜನ . ಅಯಿದಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ರಾ –

19 ಹ್ಮಣ ಭೋಜನ ಸಹವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಅಯನವರ್ತ್ತನೆ[ಯ]ರ .

20 . . ಹ ಕಾಟಿ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ಹೊಂನನು ಸಹಿರಂಣ್ಯೋದಕ ದಾ-

21 ನ ಧಾರಾಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಆ ಚಂದ್ರಾರ್ಕ್ಕಸ್ಥಾಯಿಯಾಗಿ ಧಾರೆಯ

NĪLĀVARA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of Mahishāsuramardini temple

Mallikārjuna, [1464 A.D.]

This is dated Śaka 1975, Tāraṇa, Phālguṇa, ba. Pañchami. The given Śaka year is a mistake for 1386 which corresponds to 1464 A.D.

It registers a gift of taxes made in the presence of the goddess Durgā-Bhagavatī at Niruvāra by Paṇḍaridēva-oḍeya under the orders of mahamaṇḍaleśvara Rāmachandra-daṇṇāyaka when the king was stated to be ruling from the capital of Dōra-samudra. It also mentions the hadināru of [Mā]ḷa-grāma and three hundred jagattu and pradhāni Viṭharasa-oḍeya, karaṇika Bāyappa and the sixteen of the village as signatories.
