TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

(A. R. No. 528 of 1929-30)

ULLĀḶA, MANGALORE TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in front of the dilapidated Hanumān temple in the old fort

Virūpāksha, 1474 A.D.

This badly damaged record is dated Śaka 1396, Jaya, Siṁha 15, Sunday corresponding to 1474 A.D., August 14.

It seems to registers a gift of land (?) by the haṁjamāna under certain conditions. It states that Viṭharasa-oḍeya was governing Maṅgalūru- Bārakūru-rājya under orders of mahā-pradhāna Siṁgaṇṇa-daṇāyaka.

1 ಶುಭಮಸ್ತು [|*] ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ [|*] ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ
