RACHANAPALLE, ANANTAPUR TALUK, ANANTAPUR DISTRICT

Slab set up near a well on the road side

[Vikramaditya VI, 1112 A.D. ?]

This record, engraved in continuation of No. 69/41-42 below registers gifts of money from out of their incomes from the vaḍḍarāvuḷa, her j juṁka and bilkoḍe taxes by daṇḍanāyaka Anantadēva, daṇḍanāyaka Sōvarasa and mahāmaṇḍalēśvara Mācharasa respectively to god Mallikārjuna of Kuḍiyape-staḷa for burning a perpetual lamp.

The record is dated Chālukya-Vikrama year 47, Nandana, Chaitra-amavāse, Sunday, solar eclipse. The cyclic year Nandana corresponded to the 27th year of the era (1112 A.D.). The other details don not correspond either for the 27th or for the 47th year. In 1112 A.D. the tithi occurred March 29, Friday.
