TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

No. 151

(A. R. No. 250 of 1931-32)

HĀNĒHAḶḶI (same as Mūḍakēri), UDIPI TALUK,
SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying near the image of Gaṇēśa in the first enclosure of the
Sōmanātha temple

Virūpāksha, 1486 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 140[7] (expired), Parābhava, Kārttika śu. 1, (Saturday), corresponding to 1486 A.D., October 28.

It registers a grant of income from taxes like the salt tax, sāladere etc., to the god Mūrukēriya Sōmanāthadēva by Virupāksha- oḍeya. The record is damaged.

TEXT

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ | ನಿರ್ವಿಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು [|*] ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ -

2 ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮು –

3 ಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಸಂಭವೇ || ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾದ್ಭುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕ –

4 ವರುಷ 140[7] ಸಂದು ವರ್ತಮಾನ [ಪಾ]ರಾಭವ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಶು1

5 ದ್ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರಪ್ರತಾಪ ವಿರುಪಾಕ್ಷ ರಾಯರು ವಿಜ –

6 ಯನಾಗರಿಯ ಸಿಂಹಾ[ಸನ*]ದಲು ಕುಳಿತು ರಾಜ್ಯವನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವ[ಲಿ] ಅವರ
