GIḶIYARA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab planted in a field called Harataṭṭi-Bharat-kallu-guḍḍe

Immaḍi Narasiṁha, 1498 A.D.

This slightly damaged record is dated Śaka 1420, Kālayukta, Āshāḍha śu. 15, Tuesday lunar eclipse corresponding to 1498 A.D., July 3.

It registers a gift of land in the village Kōṭa to Narasappa, son of Bārakūra Haṁpaṇṇa, of Vasishṭha-gōtra, Āśvatayana-sutra and Ṛik- sākḥā, by Sādhāraṇadē[va*]-oḍeya who was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of mahāpradhāna Narasaṇṇa-nāyaka, for the merit of the latter.
