BAINDŪRU, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying by the side of the tank called Hosakere near the
Śayanēśvara temple

Vira Narasiṁha, 1508 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1429 (expired), 1430 (current), Vibhava, Kārttika, śu. 1, corresponding to 1508 A.D., October 25. The details are not verifiable.

It registers a gift, by purchase, of lands by Duggaṇa-seṭi of the family of Kōṭi Tammiseṭṭi for feeding six brāhmaṇas daily in the maṭha built by him. It gives details of land purchased by him from several individuals in the year Kshaya (1506-07 A.D.), when mahāmaṇḍalēśvara Yindagarasa-voḍeya, son of Saṅgirāya-voḍeya was governing Hāḍuvaḷḷiya-rājya. At the time of the grant Basavarasa voḍeya was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of the king.
