PUTTIGE, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the courtyard of the Puttige-maṭha

Kṛishṇadēvarāya, 1519 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1440 (expired) and 1441 (current), Bahudhānya, Māgha ba. 18, Friday corresponding to 1519 A.D., January 28.

It registers a gift of a portion income from the siddhāya tax that was due to Raghunātha-voḍeya from Putteya in Odayaṅgala-nāḍu for offering and maintenance of a perpetual lamp in the Kṛishṇa temple to Raghunātha-voḍeya by Vijayappa-voḍeya, son of Ratnappa-oḍeya who was governing from Bārahakanyā-pura and also Raghunatha-oḍeya, at the instance of the king.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ [|*] ನಿರ್ವಿಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು [|*] ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂ-

2 ಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ [|*] ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ
............ಶಂಭ-

3 ವೇ [|*] ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನಶಕವರುಸ 1440 ಸಂದು

4 ನೆಯ ಬಹುಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಮಾಘ ಬಹುಳ 12 ಶುಲು ಶ್ರೀಮ-

5 ನ್ಮಹಾರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರಪ್ರತಾಪ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಯ

6 ಮಹಾರಾಯರು ವಿಜೆಯನಗರಿಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದಲು ಚಿತ್ತಯಿಸಿ ದುಷ್ಟನಿ-

7 ಗ್ರಹ ಶಿಷ್ಟಪರಿಪಾಲಕನಾಗಿ ಸಕಲವಂರ್ನ್ನಧಂರ್ಮ್ಮಾಶ್ರಿಯಂಗಳನು ಪಾಲಿ-

8 ಸುವಲಿ ಆ ರಾಯರ ನಿರೂಪದಿಂದ ಬಾರಹ[ಕಂನ್ಯಾಪುರ]ವನು ರತ್ನಪ್ಪೊಡೆಯರ

9 ರ ವಿಜೆಯಪ್ಪ ವೊಡೆಯರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನಾಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಕ್ರುಷ್ಣರಾಯರ ನಿರೂಪ-

10 ದಿಂದ ವಿಜೆಯಪ್ಪ ವೊಡೆಯರು ರಘುನಾಥ ವೊಡೆಯರೂ ಪೂಜೆಯಮಾಡುವ

11 ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ರುಷ್ಣದೇವರ ಅಮ್ರುತಪಡಿ ನಂದಾ[ದೀ*]ಪ್ತಿಗೆ ಕುಳವಕಡಿದು ಧಾಱೆಯನೆಱದು

12 ಬರಸಿಕೊಟ ಧಂರ್ಮಶಾಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ನಂಮ ಅರುಮನೆಯ ಭಂಡಾ-

13 ರ[ಸ್ತಳದ] ಉದಯಂಗಲನಾಡವೊಳಣ ಪುತ್ತೆಯದ ಊರೊಳಗೆ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ [ತೆ]-

14 [ತ್ತು]ಬಹ ಸಿಧಾಯ ಹೊಂನಿನ ವೊಳಗೆ ರಘುನಾಥ ವೊಡೆಯರ ಪಾಳಿಗೆ ಬಂ-

15 ದ ಸಲಿಲವ ಅಂಬಳೆದವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಲೂ ಬಂದಗದೆ [ಮೂ]ಡೆ 140 ಆ
