RĀMGAḌH, SANDUR TALUK, BELLARY DISTRICT

Slab leaning against the front wall of Rāmadēva temple

Kṛishṇadēvarāya, 1527 A.D.

This record, engraved in slightly cursive characters, states Gōpāyi, her younger brother Rāmaṇa and others had the temple of Rāmanāthadēva construsted at Hosamaleyadurga, in honour of Rāmanātha- voḍeya of Hosamale, son of Khaṇḍeyarāya-Kaṁpilarāya and Vīra- Gujala-Hariharadēvī and grand-son of Mummaḍi Siṅga, and several others who fell in battle.

It is dated Śaka 1450, Sarvajit, Āśvija śu. 10, the details being insufficient for verification. The tithi corresponds to 1527 A.D., October 4, when the weekday was Friday. The Śaka year was current.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನಮಃ || ಶುಭಮಸ್ತು

2 ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಖವರುಷ 14[50]ನೆಯ ಸರ್ವ –

3 ಜಿತು ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಆಶ್ವಿಜ[ಶು]10ಲೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ರಿಷ್ಣ –

4 ದೇವಮಹಾರಾಯರು ಪೃಥ್ವೀರಾಜ್ಯಂ [ಪಾಲಿಸು] –

5 ತ್ತಿರಿಲೂ ಹೊಸಮಲೆಯ ದುರ್ಗದಲೂ ಮುತ –

6 ಮುಂಮಡಿ ಸಿಂಗನ ಕುಮಾರ ಖಂಡೆಯರಾಯ

7 ಕಂಪಿಲರಾಯನ ಪಟಕೆಸಲುವ ರಾಣೀವಾಸ ವೀರ ಗುಜಲ ಹರಿ –

8 ಹರದೇವಿಯವರ ಪುತ್ರಹೊಸಮಲೆಯ ರಾಮನಾ –

9 ಥ ವೊಡೆಯರು ಛಪ್ಪನದೇ[ಶದ] ರಾಯರಗಂಡ ಆತನ

10 ಮನೆಯ ಹಾಡುಕಾಱ ಪಟದ ಸೋಮಣಯ್ಯ

11 ವಿಜಯನಗರದ ಹೂವಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಹನುಮಂತ –

12 ದೇವರ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ರಾಮಣನು ಆತನಮಗನು ಸೋಮಣ –
