AMBAḶAPĀḌI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up by the side of the east verandah in the prākāra of the
Janārdanasvāmin temple

Sadāśivarāya, 1570 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1493, Pramōdūta, Dhanus 4, Sunday, corresponding to 1570 A.D., December 2, the weekday, however, being Saturday. The Śaka year was current.

It registers endowments of land for the worship of land offerings to god Janārdanadēva of Aṁbaḷapāḍi by Śrīdhara Niḍuṁbūra, who had the temple of the above deity reconstructed after his return from Rāmēśvara where he had been on pilgrimage. It states that on the date Rāmakṛishṇappa-voḍeya was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of Rāmarāja-nāyaka of Keḷadi.

ವೊಡೆಯರ ನಿರೂಪದಿಂದ ಬರದ[ಸಾ]ಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ | ಬ್ರಂ-

8 ಹಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯರು ಮಂಪಳ್ಳಿ . . ನಿಡುಂಬೂರರ | ಕುಮಾರ ಶ್ರೀಧರಾ ನಿಡುಂಬೂರರೂ|
ರಾಮೇಶ್ವರಕ್ಕೆ ತೀರ್ಥ-

9 ಯಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತೀರ್ಥಸ್ನಾನವಮಾದಿ | ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿಡುಂಬೂರಿಗೆಬಂದು
ಅಂಬಳಪಾಡಿಯ ಜನಾರ್ದನದೇವರ ದೇವಾಲ್ಯದ ಜೀರ್ನ್ನೋ-

10 ಧಾರವಾಗಿ ಕಲಲಿಕಟಿಸಿ | ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನೆವೇದ್ಯ ನಿತ್ಯಶ್ರೀಬಲಿ ವಿನಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಟ
ತಳದ ವಿವರ ಪಾ . ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಯಿರಿಸುವ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ತಳದ
