TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

ARIGUḌI, (NEAR BAḶPA) PUTTUR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up under a tree in a field near the Kāṇūr-maṭha

Aḷiya Rāmarāya, 1562 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 1484, Dundubhi, Vaiśākha śu. 3, Monday, corresponding to 1562 A.D., April 6.

It registers the gift of the village Baḷapa in Kaḍaba-sīme to god Subrahmaṇya of Kuke by Sadāśivarāya-nāyaka son of Chavuḍa-gauḍa of Keḷadi. This chief is stated to have received Maṅgalūru-rājya as māgāṇi from mahāmaṅḍaēlśvara Aḷiya Rāmappaya who is referred to as ruling over the country from Vidyānagari. The record, however falls in the reign period of Sadāśivarāya.

1 ಶುಭಮಸ್ತು | ನಮ[ಸ್ತು]೦ಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ[|*] ತ್ರಯಿಲೋಕ್ಯ
ನಗ –

2 ರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ [||*] ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ

3 ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕವರುಷ 1484 ನೆ ದುಂದುಭಿ ಸಂವತ್ಸರ ವಯಿ-

4 ಶಾಖ ಶು 3 ಸೋಲು ಶ್ರೀ ಮನ್ಮಹಾಮಂಡಲೇಶ್ವರ ಅಳಿಯರಾಮಪ್ಪ-

5 ಅಯದೇವ ಮಹಾ ಅರಸಂಗಳವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾನಗರಿಯಲಿ ರತ್ನ ಸಿಂ-

6 ಹಾಸನರೂಢರಾಗಿ ಸಕಲರಾಜ್ಯಂಗಳನು ಸದ್ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾಲಿಸುತಿಹಕಾಲ-

7 ದಲಿ ಯಡವಮುರಾರಿ ಕೋಟಿ ಕೋಳಾಹಳ ಕೆಳದಿಯ ಚಉಡ ಗಉಡರ
ಮಕಳು[ಸದಾ]-

8 ಶಿವರಾಯ ನಾಯಕರು ಕು[ಕೆದ] ಸುಬ್ರಂಹ್ಮಣ್ಯದೇವರ ಅಮ್ರುತಪಡಿ ಧರ್ಮ-

9 ಕೆ ನಂದಾದೀಪಕೂ . . ಶಾ ಬಳಪಗ್ರಾಮದ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ
