KUḌUPU, MANGALORE TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the outer prākāra of the Ananta Padmanābhasvāmin
temple

Sōyirāya, 1335 A.D.

The record is dated the cyclic year Bhāva, Kuṁbha 22, Wednesday. On the 14th century and the date equated to 1335 A.D., February 15.

The record which is much damaged refers to the rule of Vīra- Sōyirāya of the Āḷupa dynasty bearing the titles Pānḍya-Chakravarti, Basavaśaṅkara and Rāyagajāṁkuśa, and seems to registers a gift of money-income. Mentions Mayinda-heggaḍe and the village Kuḍupa.

12 ದರಾದಡೆ ಅರಸಿಂ ದಂಡರೆ ಲೆ 1 ಗ 1000 ಯಿ

13 ವೂರಿಂದ ವೊಬರು ಮಿತವ ಕೊಟ್ಟಡೆ ದಡಗಳ . ದೊ

Slab set up in a field called ‘Beḍagalkaṭṭe hola’

Sōyidēva

The badly damaged record registers a gift of land in the villages Uppugunda and Hesarūru to Nāraṇa-kāraṁtaḍigaḷu. All other details are lost.
