NĪLĀVARA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No. 7) set up in the prākāra of Mahishāsuramardini temple

Kulaśēkhara, 1344 A.D.

The badly damaged record is dated Śaka 12[6]7, Tāraṇa, Mārggaśira ba. 3, Vṛiśchika 27, Thursday. The given details, bearing the week-day which was Tuesday, correspond to 1344 A.D., November 23, the Śaka year being current.

It seems to register a gift of land to the goddess Bhagavatī of Niruvāra by the king.
