SAṄGAMĒŚVARAM, NANDIKOTKUR TALUK, KURNOOL DISTRICT
Slab built into the platform of the maṇḍapa outside the western gate
of the Saṅgamēśvara temple
Rāyamurāri Sōvidēva, 1173 A.D.
This inscription is dated the year Nandana, Māgha śu 3,
Thursday. The details correspond regularly to 1173 A.D., January 18.
The record states that the representatives of the four and the
eight nāḍu, the seṭṭis of Kannaḍa-4000, Eḍadore-2000 etc., headed by
the five hundred svāmis of Ayyāvoḷe, had a tōraṇa constructed and set
up the image of Bhagavatī at Kāḍalūr in Aṁyaṇavāḍi and gathering
at Mosaḷemaḍuvu alias Gaṇḍanārāyaṇapura, the chief town of Kanne-300, made an endowment (the details of which are lost) to god
Saṅgamēśvara, for worship and offerings and for the feeding and
clothing Tatpurusha-paṇḍita the sthānapati of the temple. It further
registers a gift of one gadyāṇa by the Bīravaṇiga of Kaṇṇe-nāḍu.
Ñāmōja, son of Kāvōja and younger brother of Guṁḍōja engraved the
record.
