TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

into 60 vrittis. The king described as the son of Dēvarāja-oḍeya and grandson of Chāmarāja-oḍeya of Atrēya-gōtra, Āślāyana-sūtra and Ṛik- śākha, is said to have purchased this area. The gift was made for the merit of the king’s ancestors in the presence of god Raṅganāthasvāmi of Śrīraṅga-paṭṭaṇa, described as Gautama-kshētra.

It is dated Śaka 15[2]3, Virōdhikṛit, Bhādrapada śu. 15, Monday, lunar eclipse. The details are irregular. In Śaka 1523 (1601 A.D.) the tithi occurred on September 2 Wednesday. In the cyclic year Virōdhikṛit (Śaka 1533=1611 A.D.), the tithi occurred on September 12, Thursday. On neither of these days did the eclipse occur.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕವರ್ಷ 15[2]3

2 ಸಂದು ವರ್ತಮಾನವಾದ ವಿರೋಧಿಕೃತ್ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಭಾದ್ರಪದ ಶು 15 ಲು
ಸೋ-

3 ಮೋಪರಾಗ ಪುಣ್ಯಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವೇರೀ ಮಧ್ಯವರ್ತ್ತಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀರ-

4 ೦ಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗೌತಮಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ರಂಗನಾಥಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸಂನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮ-

5 ದ್ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ವೀರಪ್ರತಾಪ ಬಿರುದಂತೆಂ-

6 ಬರಗಂಡ ದೇವರಾಜವೊಡೆಯರ ಕುಮಾರ ದೇವರಾಜ ಭೂಪಾಲ-

7 ಕರು ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಾಧೀಶರಾಗಿ ಸುಖದಿಂ ಪ್ರಿಥ್ವೀ ಸೌಂ-

8 ಬ್ರಾಜ್ಯಂ ಗೈಉತ್ತಿರಲು ಮಾಡಿದಂಥಾ ವಿಣ್ಣಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿನಾಮ ವಾ-

9 ದ ನಂಜನಗೊಡ ದೇವರಾಜಪುರ ಅಗ್ರಹಾರ ದಾನ-

10 ಶಾಸನಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ಆತ್ರೇಯ ಗೋತ್ರ ಆಶ್ಲಾಯನ ಸೂ-

11 ತ್ರ ರುಕ್ಯಾಕೆಯ ಮೈಸೂರ ಚಾಮರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ ಪೌತ್ರ ರಾ-

12 ದ ದೇವರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ ಪುತ್ರರಾದ ದೇವರಾಜ ಭೂಪಾಲಕ-

13 ರು ತಮಗೆ ವಿಕ್ರಯಾರ್ಜಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಸತ್ಯಮಂಗಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲು-

14 ವ ಉಡುವಂಕನಾಡದ ಉಕ್ಕರದ ಹೋಬಳಿಯಲು ವಿಂಣ್ಣಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿಗೆ

15 ಪ್ರತಿನಾಮವಾದ ನಂಜನಗೂಡ ದೇವರಾಜ ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ

16 ಸಲುವ ಉಪಗ್ರಾಮಗಳು ಸಹಯೀ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲು ಕರವಳಿ

17 ಹೋಬಳಿ ಕಲಯನೂರಸ್ತಳ ಚಂಪಕಪುತ್ತೂರಿಗೆ ಸಲು-

18 ವ ಬೊಲ್ಲಿನಾಯಕನ ಪಾಳ್ಯ ಗಂಗಿನಾಯಕನ ಪಾಳ್ಯ

19 ಯೀ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲು ಮೇಲುಮುಖದ ಹೊಬಳಿ ತೋಪನಪಾಳ್ಯ

20 ಚಿಕಿತೊವಿಲಿಪಿಗೆ ಸಲುವ ಉಪಗ್ರಾಮಗಳು ಸಹ
