TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

It is dated Śaka 1600, Piṅgala, Māgha ba. 7, corresponding to 1678 A.D., February 3, the Śaka year being current. The details cannot, however, be verified.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಶಕಾಬ್ದ 1600 ಯಿದರಮೇಲೆ ನಡುವ-

2 ೦ಥಾ ಪಿಂಗ್ಗನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಮಾಖ ಭುಳ 7

3 ಯಲು ಶ್ರೀ ಮನ್ಮಹಾರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜ ರಾಜ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಫ್ರೌಢ ಪ್ರ-

AMMĀPĀḶAIYAM, SALEM TALUK, SALEM DISTRICT

Kṛishṇarāja-voḍeya, 1759 A.D.

This record, which is said to be a copy of a copper-plate inscription, registers a gift of some lands at Ammāpāḷya and Nāramaṅgala, the cost of which was probably paid by Haidaralli into the treasury, to Akāvallāsāhēb for maintaining the daragah and the fakīrs.

The record is dated Śaka 1681, Pramādi, Āshāḍha śu. 8, the details being insufficient for verification. The tithi corresponds to 1759 A.D., July 2 when the week-day was Monday.
