TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

No. 330

(A. R. No. 115 of 1935-36)

KAṬLETALA, PUTTUR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Two sides of a slab set up in front of the well called Pustaka-tīrtha

1369-70 A.D.

This badly damaged record seems to register a gift, made over to Bīru-seṭi, son-in-law of Sōmi-seṭi and Doḍatale-seṭi. It reforms to an atikāri and to god kaitiladanātha (?).

No. 331

(A. R. No. 555 of 1929-30)

UPPUNDA, COONDAPOOR TAUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in afield called ‘Hāḍimane-hola’

1377 A.D.

This damaged record in characters of about the 14th century, seems to register a gift of land to Nāraṇa-aḍigaḷu, in the presence of the nāḍu of Uppuguṅḍa and others, by the king kātarasa of the Aḍiyara-kula. It mentions Kōlarasa and Aṇṇa-sēnabōva

It is dated the cyclic year Naḷa Māgha-amāvasya, Monday probably corresponding to 1377 A.D., February 8, the being Sunday.
_________________________________________________________________

1      The rest of the record and the continuation on the back of the slab have been
        badly damaged..
