TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

SURĀLA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No. 3) set up in the inner prākāra of the Mahāliṅgēśvara temple

1416-17 A.D.

This damaged record is dated Śaka 1339, Durmukha, Śrāvaṇa. other details are not given It corresponds to 1416-17 A.D., the Śaka year being current.

It registers a gift of land made by Mādāḍi Toḷaha for feeding Brāhmaṇas daily in the temple of Mahādēva at Surāla. The record was caused to be engraved by Bemmaṇa-kōri Toḷaha. It mentions Neṇagunda- 30.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಎನಮಃ | ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ
ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂ-

2 ಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ | ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಕವರುಷ 1330ನೆಯ
ದುರ್ಮುಖ ಸಂವಛರದ [ಶ್ರಾವಣ]ಮಾ-

3 ಸದಲು ಶ್ರೀಮತು ಸಕಲಗುಣ ಸಂಪಂನರಪ ಬೆಂಮಣ [ಕೋ]ರಿಯ[ರಾ]ದ
ತೊಳಹರ ಕಾಲದಲಿ ಹೊಸಬುಕೋರಿಯರ ಕುಮಾರವೃತ್ತಿಯಲು

4 ಅವರ ತಂಮಂದಿರು ಅಳಿಯಂದಿರು ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಎರಡೂರನೂ ನಾಕುಮನೆಯ
ಬಂದುಗಳನೂ ನೆಣಗುಂದ ಮೂವತ್ತನೂ ಕೊಡಿಕೊಂಡು

5 ಬೆಂಮಣಕೋರಿ ತೊಳಹರು ಬರಸಿದ ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ಸೂರಾಲ
ಮಹಾದೇವರ ದೇವಾಲ್ಯದಲಿ ದಿನಂಪ್ರತಿ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಭೋಜ[ನ] –

6 ಡವಂತಾಗಿ ಮದಾ[ಡಿ] ತೊಳಹರು ಮಾಡಿದಂಥಾ ಧರ್ಮದ ಬಾಳಿಂದ ನಡವ
ಅಕ್ಕಿಯ ವಿವರ ಬಾಳಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಹೊಸಗದ್ದೆಯ ಬಗೆಯಲಿ ನಾಗಂಡುಗದ [ಮುಳಿ]

7 ಬಾಳನು ನಿಮ್ಮ . . . ಬೆಲ್ಲಗದ್ದೆಯ ಬಗೆಯಿಂದ ಮೂ . .ಪುದುಗ್ರಾಮದ
