SURĀLA, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No. 5) in the inner prākāra 6of the Mahāliṅgēśvara temple

1416-17 A.D.

It registers a gift of land by Kōṭi-seṭṭi of Sūrāla for feeding three Brāhmaṇas in the temple of that place during the period of Bemmaṇa-kōri Toḷaha, when Hosabukōri was enjoying the Kumāravṛitti.

It is dated Śaka 1339, Durmkhi,Śrāvaṇa, the details not being sufficient for verification. It corresponds to 1416-17 A.D., The Śaka year being current.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಇಪತಎನಮ[B*] ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿ-

2 ರ ಸ್ತುಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರ ಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರಯಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ [ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ

3 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಕವರುಷ 1339 ನೆಯ ದುರ್ಮು-

4 ಬಿ ಸಂವಛರದ ಶ್ರಾವಣಮಾಸದಲು ಬೆಂಮಣ ಕೋರಿ[ಯರಾ]-

5 ದ ತೋಳಹರು ಜನನವಬಾಳುವ ಕಾಲದಲಿ ಹೊಸ[ಬು]ಕೋರಿ-

6 ಯರ [ಕುಮಾ]ರವ್ರಿತ್ತಿಯಲಿ ಸೂರಾಲ ಕೋಟಿ ಸೆಟ್ಟಿ ಬರಸಿದ

7 ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸನದ ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದಡೆ ಸೂರಾಲ ದೇವಾಲ್ಯ-

8 ದಲಿ ಮೂವರು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರಿಇಗೆ ಭೋಜನ ನಡವಂತಾಗಿ ಮಾ-

9 ಡಿದ ಧರ್ಮದಬಾಳಿನ ವಿವರ ಮೂಡ ಬೆಟ್ಟಿನಮನೆ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಲಗಡಿ .
