TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

No. 44

(A. R. No. 337 of 1931-31)

KEÃJURU, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing near the Mēla-maṭha at the hamlet Aṁmañji

Bukka I, 1358 A.D.

It states that Malu-Niḍuvaḷa of Bārābaḷi made provisions for offerings and a lamp in the temple of Kiṭināthadēva and that Kōṭyaṇṇa-Niḍuvaḷa entrusted Kēśa-Añcha with the responsibility of maintaining the gift (probably of land) made for the purpose.

It is dated Śaka 1[2]8[0], Viḷambi, Vṛishabha, the tiṭhi and the weekday being lost. It corresponds to 1358 A.D., the tithi falling sometime in the months of April-May of that year.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮ[B] ಅರಿರಾ –

2 ಯ ವಿಭಾಡ ಭಾಸೆಗೆ ತಪ್ಪುವರಾಯ –

3 ರಗಂಡ ಶ್ರೀ ವೀರ ಬುಕ್ಕಂಣ[ವೊ]ಡೆಯರು

4 ರಾಜ್ಯವಂ ಪಾಲಿಸಲು ಶಕವರುಷ 1[2]8[0]

5 ನೆಯ ವಿಳಂಬಿ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ವೃಷಭ ಮಾಸ

6 . . . . ದಂದು ಕೋಟಿನಾಥದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಾರಾ [ಬ]-

7 ಳಿಯ ಮಲು [ನಿಡುವ]ಳನು ದಿನಪ್ರತಿ ವೋ[ಪಾ]ನೆ ಅ –

8 ಡಿಗೆ [ದೀಪ]ವಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದನು ಆ ಧರ್ಮ ಆಚಂದ್ರಾ –

9 ರ್ಕ್ಕ ನಡವಹಂಗೆ ಕೋಟಿಯಂಣ ನೆಡುವಳ ಅ – . .

10 ೦ನ ವೊ ದ[ಮಾ]ಡಮಟದ [ಉ]ಭಯದಿಂ ಕೇಶ ಅಂ[ಚ]

11 ರಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಣೆಗದೆಯ ನಾಯ ಮೂಲವಾಗಿ ಸಂ –

12 ತಾನ ಸಂತಾನವಾಗಿ ದೇವಸ್ಸವ ನಡಸಿ ಬ[ರು]ವ –

13 ನು ಎಂದು ಎಱದೀ ಧಾರೆಣೆ ಮಂಗಳಮಹಾ
