INSCRIPTIONS OF THE KALACHURIS OF RATANPUR
1 The visarga after ह appears to have been cancelled. Read तैश्च भट्टविलो देशो जितो वै पतनै सह ।
2 Read पुननवशतग्रामा:.
3 Read उपाज्जितो विहरादेश:.
4 The correct reading would be एकविंशतिशतैर्गामै: though this would offend against the metre.
Kielhorn read प[ञ्च] विन्स-.
5 Read तथा चास्यानुज: पुत्रू.
6 This should be देवसिहोनुपम: though it would violate the metre.
7 Read सार्वसप्त्शतं.
8 Read विरुयाता
9 This visarga is superfluous.
10 The correct reading would be अनयो: पुत्रो महाबाहुर्जगपालो-.
11 Read मायुरिका.
12 Read मायुरिका.
13 Perhaps सामन्ता: is intended.
14 This should be प्रचण्डारय:
15 Kielhorn read[प]र्ब्ब[ता], but the first akshara is certainly ष and the last appears to be था. Read
सर्व्वथाश्रयणं
16 Perhaps धन्विनामपि is meant.
17 Read नाम
18 Read कुलमद्देन
19 निहण्येदु is incorrect for न्यहनू.
20 Read अश्वारोहा अपि The metre would, however, require a reading like अश्वारोहाश्च
21 Read नरवाजिन:
22 The sense here requires a reading like संमुखाघस्य.
23 The intended reading may be घन्वचम्म्भ्यां.
24 Read खड्गपाणिर्महाहवे.
25 This should be न्यहन
26 This syllable is superfluous.
27 Read उपाज्जितो येन सुवीरकृत्यै:.
28 The last quarter of this verse should read . राठं सतेरं तमनालदेस (श)मू. to suit the metre, but like
Kielhorn, I am not certain of the meaning of it. Metre of this and the next varśe: Upajāti.
29 The intended reading seems to be श्रिरत्न्नदेवनृपराज्य-. but it would offend against the metre
30 This should be सिन्द्धराड्ग- Kielhorn doubtfully read सिन्द्धरमा[हु]-,
but this gives no good sense.
