INSCRIPTIONS OF THE PARAMARAS OF CHANDRAVATI

____________________________________________________________
[1] The intended reading may have been दलितारातिवर्ग्गः
[2] Read प्रशास्ति. With प्रशासति the following expression is redundant.
[3] This visarga is changed to r in J. B. B. R. A. S., but sandhi is optional here. The daṇḍas in the 1. are
redundant.
[4] Read श्रेयोयशोवृद्धये. The following two letters which are missing may have been सन्धि.
[5] Read श्रीमती. The daṇḍa after ताः appears to have been scored off.
[6] Gōshṭhika means a member of the managing Committee. See C. I. I., IV, p. 21, n. 3.
[7] This is a contraction of श्र्पंश. What appears as the sign of anusvāra above द्र is a fault of the stone.
[8] Read काश्यपर्षि. From सुतः up to this letter the text is restored from J. B. B .R. A. S., as this part of the
stone is now broken and lost.
[9] Perhaps we have to read दुर्ग्गादित्यसुतसमेतस्य. The construction is not clear.
[10] J. B. B. R. A. S. has श्रीधरः, but I am certain about my reading of the name.
[11] The akshara is now lost and has been restored from the reading in J. B. B. R. A. S.
[12] This and the preceding letter are now lost. They are restored from the reading in J. B. B. R. A. S.
[13] The second letter of the name may also be read as हु.
[14] J. B. B. R. A. S. has [ध]र्म्म रतः, but to me the intended reading seems to be [षट्क]र्म्म रतः.
[15] The akshara ह is engraved below the line.
[16] J. B. B. R. A. S. has -र्म्मलबुद्धिः, which is evidently wrong.
[17] Read जन्मसु. Here the sense is not clear.
[18] Read इयं, but it would not suit in the metre after the sandhi. From the beginning of this line up to ष्ठा
the portion of the stone is lost and the reading is restored from J. B. B. R. A. S.
