INSCRIPTIONS OF THE SILAHARAS OF NORTH KONKAN

________________________________________________
[1] The English translation has ‘who has held up the root and stalk of the sacred lotus’. Nothing like this
is seen in any Silāhāra grant.
[2] This territorial name appears very queer. Perhaps वरेटिकाविषयान्तःपाति is the correct reading.
[3] The English translation has खाविनार, but Fleet proposed to read चाविनार. See his note in Ep. Ind.,
Vol. XII, p. 259.
[4] Metre: Sālinī.
[5] Metre : Indravajrā.
[6] Metre of verses 30-34 : Anushṭubh.
[7] The English translation has ‘living with great fear’. So the reading here seems to have been महाभया.
