EPIGRAPHIA INDICA
RAKSHASKHALI ISLAND PLATE OF MADOMMANAPALA ; SAKA 1118

POSTSCRIPT
I thank Mr. N. Lakshminarayan Rao for suggesting, better readings in notes 4-6 of the previous page.
The identification of Kukanūru with modern Kukkanūr, which seems to be quite certain, tempts me to decipher
the name of the village granted as Kuvvaḷapālu for, as stated in the grant itself, at a distance of about 16 miles
to the East by North-East of Kukkanūr, there is a village Kōlehāḷ which seems to be a modernization of the
ancient name Kuvvaḷapālu.
