______________________________________
[1] About 14 or 15 letters are lost after this.
[2] The daṇḍas are superfluous.
[3] The daṇḍas are superfluous.
[4] Here ends the fourth verse of the original charter. It is in the Śārdūlavikrīḍita metre, but only the last
foot can be satisfactorily made out. Although these verses appear to be different from those found in the other
grants of the family, it has to be noticed that oven in those records Śivānanda’s description occupies verse 4, while
verses 1-3 describe his grandfather Jayānanda and father Parānanda.
[5] The ē sign is not found in its proper place and is attached to the subscript t.
[6] The daṇḍas are superfluous. Here ends the first foot of a verse in the Śārdūlavikrīḍita metre ; but this
foot cannot be satisfactorily made out.
[7] The daṇḍas are superfluous.
[8] Possibly only one daṇḍa is necessary.
[9] This marks the end of the fifth verse of the original charter ; but a large number of the syllables of its second
half have been omitted.
[10] This marks the end of the 6th verse of the original charter ; but a large number of syllables has been omitted.
[11] Read Dēvānandadēvaḥ.
[12] The daṇḍas are superfluous.
[13] Read Dālbhya-gōtrīya.
[14] Probably we have to suggest tryārshēya-pravarāyasas the Dālbhya gōtra has three pravaras, viz., Aṅgirus
(or Māndhātṛī) Ambarīsha and Yuvanāśva (Gōtrapravaranibandhakadamba, Bombay, p. 114).
[15] It the name of the donee is expected here we may probably suggest Trilōkāya in place of tṛiṇōkapā.
[16] Read bhavishyad-yathākāla-bhāvinō.
[17] The daṇḍas are superfluous. Many words have been left out here.
[18] The daṇḍa is superfluous. Read chatuḥ-sīmā-paryantaḥ ; but the rest of the charter has been left out.
