It is stated that this amount of 4½ achchu was formerly obtained by the assembly from the bhandāram (i.e. temple treasury) in order to pay the levy imposed on the residents of Iḷāṅguḍi towards the blackmail to be paid to the Hoysaḷa general Mahāpradhāni Bhōga-Daṇḍanāyaka for immunity against his plundering raids. |
