Kannaḍa

Records the death, in a cattle raid, of Sātaṇa, [son of] Bhojaṁgara Nāraṇayya of Piriya-Kereyūr. The memorial was carved by Sāta.

Registers a gift of the income from perjuṁka made to certain prominent local residents (names specified) for the upkeep of the big tank of Piriya-Kereyūr, by Daṇḍanāyaka Guṇḍamayya, the king’s general bearing the titles Narmadā-nady-ubhaya-taṭarājahaṁsa (a swan on the two banks of the Narmadā), Māḷava-dhūmakētu (fire to the Māḷavas), Maṇḍavakōḷ-ōllaṁghana (capture of the Maṇḍava fort), Dhārānagara-kutūhala (a curiosity to the inhabitants of Dhārā) and Mummaṇijaḷadhi-badavānaḷa (submarine fire to the sea of Mummaṇi). Kāśyapa Mādhava wrote the record and Nāgavarman of Huligere engraved it. Noticed in Prog. Kan. Res., 1947-52. P. 23.

Registers a provision made for feeding the travellers out of the income from the wet land purchased for 400 gadyāṇas, handed over to the Thousands Mahājanas of the mahāgrāma of Piriya Kereyūr, by Śrīdhara Kravinta and others for the beatitude of the former’s maternal uncle Musukiṭṭaṇṇamayya of the Āṁgirasa gōtra.

States that when Māka-gauḍa (son of Koṭagāra-nāyaka) died, his wife committed sahagamana.

Damaged. States that the stone marks the performance of gōsāsa by a certain person (name not clear).

Records the remission of certain specified taxes on the barbers of the region made by Rāmarāja at the request of the barbers Timmōja, Koṁḍōja and Bhadrōja with whose work he was pleased.

Records the death of Mēdara Pāṁḍya near Bisilahaḷḷi when the teacher Mūrujāvi was proceeding to Huligere. See Nos. 92 and 95 below.
